2007 Southern Trans Am Regional Show
STARS
After attending the Trans Am Nationals in Dayton, Ohio
for the past fifteen years, I decided this year to attend the
STARS Show in Destin, Florida, held March 16-18, 2007.
The show attracted nearly 90 Firebirds of all flavors, with a
heavy emphasis on Trans Ams. Fouth generations cars dominated,
but there was a great assortment of 2nd Gen cars and as well as
a nice quantity of 1st and 3rd gen cars as well.
Mark and Belva Parrott do a wonderful job of hosting the
show, making all the best efforts to please everyone. Being the
Seventh Annual Show, this year the show site was Destin Commons, a
shopping center, with Bass Pro Shops giving up parking space for
registration, tech and judging. After the cars passed those three
requirements, the cars were displayed on the beautiful brick
accented streets in front of the shops in Desting Commons. The
scenery certainly made for great photo opportunities.
On Saturday, those in attendance were treated to a series
of talent shows presented by young children. I was quite enjoyable
to take a moment and watch these young people perform their routines
in front of so many strangers.
At around three O'clock, a cruise from Destin Commons to the
nearby beaches was conducted. About thirty of those cars in
attendance participated. I shot a small movie of the cruise as they
left Destin Commons to view it, click here

The American Cancer Society was the charity sponsored by the show.
The STARS show was done extremely well, and all the volunteers
in attendence are to be thanked and congtratulated!
